OPEN For Friday

Hey gang,

The interstates and main roads look clear.  Secondaries are mostly clear.  Just have to get out of your neighborhood.  Luckily we didn't get the ice we did at the other week.

We are open for business like normal.   Drive slow, be safe.  Give yourself extra space between you and the car in front of you.  Extra distance to break.

Closure - Thursday March 5, 2015

Looks like we got it again.  A good layer of ice with snow on top.  The news and the Franklin PD are telling people to stay off the roads.

I had a handful of people talk about a skeleton crew coming in.   I want everyone to remember safety 1st, but if you want to come in shoot me an email at jcurtis@magazines.com.   I'm only going to need a few people, I don't have an unlimited amount of work.  So I can't have everyone coming in.

Wednesday - Open for business

I have contacts from a lot of areas around the city.   Main roads are in decent condition thanks to that bright sun we recieved today.  So basically you'll want to stay safe and give extra time on the back streets until you get onto a main street.    Drive safe and give yourself plenty of room to stop.

Cars drive well in the snow and ice at slow speeds.   They don't stop well.

Payroll is due tomorrow so you'll want to be there so we can get you paid.   (you also better route for me making it in!)     :)

There is a call for 1 inch of snow tonight which would help cover the icy back roads.  Let's all hope for the best.  See you tomorrow.

Wednesday - Questions

Had a couple questions from my closed today post.

#1 -  Yes, I'm planning on being open full shifts tomorrow.   I'll be watching the news throughout the day.  With the bright sun I'm hoping the main roads are clear.

BE SAFE - Drive slow and give yourself extra time.

#2 - Staying Late?   Yeah, if you are willing and able I think we'll have over 1000 emails.  Tons of cancels and upset customers.

Be proactive, if you have an ice ball for a car see if you can jockey it around (safely) to point toward the sun.   I did that with my truck this morning and it seems to be thawing out.  Had to climb in through the passenger side because the driver side was solid.   I think the sun will take care of that for me.   Get out a little and shovel your drive.  Anything helps.   :)

Tuesday - Feb 17 Updated

Hey gang,

Schools are closed, the Mayor is telling people to not drive.   The two main roads out of my area are closed.  I've heard from a few more rural folks that they are stuck.

We are CLOSED.   The rest of this week will be slammed.  My guess is that we have a ton of emails.

I know schools are closed tomorrow but based on what they are showing today the main roads should be cleared with traffic and sun.  Please plan on coming tomorrow and making every effort to be in.

Tuesday - February 17th

I'm hoping the roads are a little cleared up tomorrow.   But at the very least we are going to be on a delay.  As of right now I'll look to open the office at 10am.

I'll put up another update by 8am tomorrow morning.

8 Inches of Snows?????

Well that's what they said we'd wake up to on the 11 o'clock news.    That didn't happen but a solid sheet of ice did.   Within 10 minutes of waking up two people had called out and someone's husband had slid off the road.  My driveway looks like an ice skating rink and Justin Bruce of Channel 2 News just said "I don't think so."   when he was told by a viewer his boss told him he had to go to work.   All the day cares are closed.

WE ARE CLOSED FOR BUSINESS!    We'll have a TON of customers to take care of tomorrow, be prepared for a busy day.
